About Jorinde Voigt

Jorinde Voigt (*1977) is a German artist from Frankfurt am Main, based in Berlin. Jorinde Voigt explores reality and perception by constructing space, time, speed and form in an analytic way. In order to translate phenomena like melodies and literature into figurative and aesthetic dimensions, Voigt develops her own visual language. In the notations – nothing more than arrows, numbers, prosaic note-taking – dynamic labyrinths grow in these mysterious works, extremely complex systems that appear chaotic but are in fact defined by rhythm and order. Starting from drawing, the artist also experiments with several techniques and materials, from colour compositions with various drawing tools via gilded prints through to collages with cut out silhouettes or layers of feathers. She is one of the amazing artist in germany.

Jorinde Voigt's works are in several international collections, such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, Art Institute of Chicago; Kunsthaus, Zurich; The Morgan Library & Museum, New York; Museum of Modern Art, New York; Pinakothek der Moderne, Munich; Staatliche Graphische Sammlung, Munich; Kupferstichkabinett, Berlin; Horst-Janssen-Museum, Oldenburg, Germany; St. Matthäus-Kirche, Berlin, Germany; Kunstraum Innsbruck, Austria; Kunsthalle Krems, Austria; MACRO Museo d'Arte Contemporanea, Rome, Italy; Langen Foundation, Neuss, Germany; Mao Space, Shanghai, China, and David Nolan, New York, USA.
