Curiosity and technical challenges have always been part of Max Frintrops work. There was plenty of both, when the
edition Kalypso was developped in close collaboration with VogelART. In terms of the small size, material (paper instead of canvas) and also concerning the way of working – not
from light to dark as usual but opposite. The result? Berath-taking motiveswith a very strong individual character. One of a kind artworks, that you can not recognize as belated coloured prints
with the naked eye. The edition Kalypso consists of 19 motives (68,5 x 48,5 cm) on 100% cotton 300 g paper museum natural velvet. Handcoloured, signed and numbered. This artworks are exlusively

Neugier und technische Herausforderungen begleiten Max Frintrops Arbeit seit jeher. Von beidem gab es reichlich, als in enger Zusammenarbeit mit VogelART die Edition Kalypso entstand. Angefangen vom eher kleinen Format, über das Material (Papier statt Leinwand) bis hin zur Arbeit an sich – nicht von hell nach dunkel sondern umgekehrt. Das Ergebnis? Atemberaubende Motive mit ganz starkem eigenen Charakter. Unikate, die mit bloßem Auge nicht als nachträglich kolorierte Prints zu erkennen sind. Die Edition Kalypso besteht aus 19 Motiven jeweils im Format 68,5 x 48,5 cm auf 100% Cotton 300 g Paper Museum Natural Velvet. Handkoloriert, signiert und nummeriert. Die Arbeiten sind nur bei VogelART erhältlich.
Max Frintrop (*1982) lives and works in Düsseldorf. He fisnished his art studies 2009 at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf as master student of Prof. Albert Oehlen. Since 2010, Frintrop hat numerous important solo exhibitions both nationally and internationally. He is an painter through and through and therefore some kind of rarity in the contemporary art ecene. His medium is mostly canvas in extra large sizes. His paintings are meant as an invitation to plunge into intense and spatial colour compositions. The three-dimensionality, that he achieves with powerful brushstrokes is again and again surprising and always fascinating.
Max Frintrop (*1982) lebt und arbeitet in Düsseldorf. Sein Studium der Freien Kunst an der Düsseldorfer Kunstakademie hat er als Meisterschüler von Prof. Albert Oehlen 2009 abgeschlossen. Seit 2010 hat Frintrop zahlreiche bedeutende Einzelausstellungen im In- und Ausland. Er ist ein Maler durch und durch und somit eine willkommene Rarität in der zeitgenössischen Kunstszene. Sein Medium sind meist riesig große Leinwände. Die fertigen Bilder verstehen sich als Einladung in die intensiven, tiefenräumlichen Farbkompositionen einzutauchen. Die Dreidimensionalität, die er mit kräftigen Pinselstrichen erzielt, ist immer wieder überraschend und immer faszinierend.
