Le Grand Bleu
An Art Exhibition at NEO curated by Gregor Hildebrandt in Nice, France.
The summer of 2025 will immerse Nice in a new light – or rather, in an endless blue. Le Grand Bleu is more than an exhibition: it is a tribute to
the immense depth, power, and fascination of the color blue. Thirty-nine international artists explore blue as a state of being, an emotion, and an infinite space. Renowned artist and curator
Gregor Hildebrandt has brought together a diverse selection of artistic perspectives that examine blue in all its facets – from floating lightness to hypnotic depth.
From the sea as a place of longing to the ocean as a symbol of boundlessness, this exhibition plays with the immaterial, the infinite, and the sublime aspects of
blue – just as Yves Klein once envisioned the sky over Nice as the ultimate work of art. Le Grand Bleu unfolds into an immersive experience, merging sculptures, paintings, photographs, and installations into an atmosphere of floating, lightness, and meditative vastness. More
than just a color, Le Grand Bleu is a feeling – a suspension between sky and water, an immersion
into tranquility and openness. It is a visual intoxication, an invitation to let go and drift away.
A must-see highlight of the 2025 cultural summer, celebrating the magic of blue and showcasing why this color has always captivated artists and dreamers
alike.
