Stroke by stroke, row by row - the line drawings by Carsten Fock belong to his best-known group of works. The process requires a high degree of concentration and the works show this through their calm, almost meditative effect. We give the initially monochrome works a new dimension with the edition 'Inner light' by placing a colored row as a "final stroke" at the end of the otherwise black rows. In August 2021, a series of 25 works was created in this way together with VogelART. The base of the black strokes was printed in Archive Pigment Print and each final row was then hand-colored in one of 25 colors with acrylic pen. The edition has the format 60 x 50 cm, is signed and numbered. When we met Carsten Fock in 2016, VogelART had just been founded. He was the artist of our first VogelART edition 'Hoffnung'.

Carsten Fock (*1968) lives and works in Bamberg, Vienna and Copenhagen. He began his arts studies at the Hochschule der Bildenden Künste in Kassel and then studied painting at the Staatliche Hochschule für Bildende Künste Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main in the classes of Georg Herold and Per Kirkeby. In 2002, Fock graduated there as a master student of Kirkeby. Fock's central medium is painting, whose technical possibilities he constantly explores in new ways. He does not avoid experimentation, whereby the boundaries between abstract, gestural-expressive painting and figuration remain in deliberate abeyance. Fock's stroke and abbreviation techniques make his works unique. He has participated in numerous international solo and group shows. His works can be found in international collections and museums.
