About Jack Pierson

Jack Pierson (*1960) works with a wide variety of media and is particularly well known for his photographs, abstract sculptures and collages. He is openly homosexual and many of his photographs show men in erotic poses. Pierson is part of the Boston School, a group of photographers who worked in Boston in the early 1980s. Mark Morrisoroe, David Armstrong, Nan Goldin and Philip-Lorca diCorcia were also members of this group, taking photographs of their friends in intimate and lascivious poses. The artist has had solo shows in the Museum of Contemporary Art in Miami, the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Chicago Museum of Contemporary Art and has participated in three Whitney Biennale shows during his career. His work has been shown in numerous solo shows and group exhibitions.

Jack Pierson (*1960) arbeitet mit einer Vielzahl von Medien und ist besonders bekannt für seine Fotografien, abstrakten Skulpturen und Collagen. Er bekennt sich offen zu seiner Homosexualität und viele seiner Fotografien zeigen Männer in erotischen Posen. Pierson ist Teil der Boston School, einer Gruppe von Fotografen, die in Anfang der 1980er Jahre in Boston arbeiteten. Mark Morrisoroe, David Armstrong, Nan Goldin und Philip-Lorca diCorcia waren ebenfalls Teil dieser Gruppe, die Fotografien von ihren gemeinsamen Freunden in intimen und lasziven Posen aufnahmen. Der Künstler hat im Museum of Contemporary Art in Miami, dem Whitney Museum of American Art und Chicago Museum of Contemporary Art Einzelausstellungen und hat in drei Whitney Biennalen im Laufe seiner Karriere teilgenommen. Seine Arbeiten wurden in zahlreichen internationalen Einzelausstellungen und Gruppenausstellungen gezeigt.
