Philipp Messner and VogelART have collaborated and published the edition NEW MARBLE. Spontaneous. Intensive. And ultimate colorful. With such an agility VogelART proudly offers 12 round, italian marble plates to hang on walls, each of them unique. At the beginning, there was the idea to soak this classy material – a very white marble – with cyan, magenta and yellow to the core. The result: hand-colored, numbered and one-of-a-kind declarations of love to the power of colors. The diameter of these marble boards is about  ø 35 cm and a weight of 3 kg. This edition is exclusively available at VogelART.

Philipp Messner (*1975 in Bolzano, Italy) lives and works in Munich. He started his artistic career in 1994, studying at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and contiuning at École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts (ENSBA). The bond to his austrian roots is often visible in his artwork, but not elementary. Exhibitions in this region or the content of his intstallations as a whole exert a lot of faszination. Consciously staged opposites of realness and artificiality, of control versus the uncontrolable forces of nature. Playing with different materials and their penetration with colour is typical for Philipp Messners artwork. His works are in numerous public and international collections, such as the Centre for Contemporary Art in Warsaw, Museion in Bolzano, ERES Foundation, Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich and many more. Philipp Messner has won numerous awards and grants, including the 2014 VHV Artist of the Year and, in the same year, a three-year studio scholarship from the City of Munich.
