About Olafur Eliasson

Olafur Eliasson (*1967) is a Danish-Icelandic artist known for sculptures and large-scale installation art employing elemental materials such as light, water, and air temperature to enhance the viewer’s experience. Since 1995 he have Studio in Berlin. Olafur represented Denmark at the 50th Venice Biennale in 2003 and later that year installed The Weather Project in the Turbine Hall of Tate Modern, London. Olafur created in the year 2012 the work Wirbelwerk (Vortex) and gives this work the Lenbachhaus in Munich. His work has been seen in numerous international solo shows and group exhibitions and private collections. He is one of the ten leading and living artists of the world.

 

Olafur Eliasson (*1967) ist ein dänisch-isländischer Künstler, der mit Skulpturen und großformatigen Installationskunst mit elementaren Materialien wie Licht, Wasser und Lufttemperatur bekannt ist, um die Erfahrung des Betrachters zu verbessern. Seit 1995 hat er ein Studio in Berlin. Olafur vertrat Dänemark auf der 50. Venedig Biennale im Jahr 2003. Außerdem installierte das „The Wheater Project“ in der Turbine Hall von der Tate Modern, London. Olafur schuf im Jahr 2012 das Kunstwerk  „Wirbelwerk (Vortex)“ für das Lenbachhaus in München. Seine Arbeiten wurden in zahlreichen internationalen Einzelausstellungen und Gruppenausstellungen und Privatsammlungen gezeigt. Er gehört zu den zehn führenden lebenden Künstlern.
